Wood Finish Care & Maintenance
All wood surfaces are coated with a catalyzed lacquer finish, which is impervious to most common liquids and other stain producing materials. Use the following procedures to maintain your product's finish.

Dusting is recommended as often as needed. Use a dusting cloth (preferably cotton or flannel) that is specially treated to attract and lock dust into the cloth fibers. Avoid using a dry or coarse cloth as it may scratch the wood surface. Feather dusters scatter the dust particles into the air only to resettle back on the product.

Cleaning The mot commonly used cleaning agents on the market today are water base. They are formulated to contain degreasing agents as well as cleaning additives that bring beauty to the wood. Recommended products are Murphy's Soap or Johnson's Pledge. Washing the wood with soap and water is not a recommended practice. It will leave the surface lusterless and in most cases will cause harm to the finish if left on the surface too long.

Polishing A good line of protection against environmental degradation of your product is a protective layer of wax. TSI's finishes are durable and hard enough that in most cases no waxing is necessary. Depending on the wear and use a good rule to follow is to wax finishes approximately every six months. A good quality wax contains carnauba wax. A recommended product is Butcher's Wax - Boston Furniture Polish. Waxes can be purchased with color additives that allow matching to the furniture's original finish tones.

Repairs to the surface of your furniture are best left to professional furniture refinishers who have the training and equipment to expertly repair wood finishes.
