View our work at the Louise Davies Symphony Hall

Designed by Skidmore, Owings and Merrill, the Louise M. Davies Symphony Hall held its inaugural concert in September 1980. It is the home of the San Francisco Symphony Orchestra as well as the Ruffatti Organ, the largest concert hall organ in North America. During the most recent renovation in 2000, TSI supplied Teatro A1 chairs to replace the 19 year old orchestra level chairs. The Teatro incorporates critical design elements such as silent gravity tip up mechanisms and superior acoustical properties. Aesthetic enhancements of cherry veneer seat, back, and end panels and plush mohair fabric add to the elegant aura of this fine concert hall. The addition of the Teatro chair to Davies Hall has allowed house technicians to reduce the amplification levels, thus lending a truer sound to the symphony’s performances.
